Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (Altitude 1400 m)

Nepal Big Mountain Travel believes in persistence and belongingness. On day 1, arrival day, a representative in formal attire with garlands (Mala) and traditional Buddhist ceremonial scarf (Khata) will welcome you. This is a traditional welcoming gesture of Nepalese. The representative will guide you to the hotel. You can wander around the streets of Thamel and explore shops during the late afternoon. Then, a cultural dinner is presented overnight at Tourist Standard hotel in Kathmandu or similar class.

Day 2: Drive to Pokhara (5-6 hrs ride)

New daylight begins the day and you devour your breakfast early in the morning. Then, you go on an interesting long drive of 5-6 hours to Pokhara from Kathmandu. You will engage in observing the beauty of Pokhara passing through Himalayan Rivers – Trishuli, Marsyangdi, and Seti. The high current of the rivers offers you a prospect of rafting which can be your next possible destination of another package we offer. During the afternoon, you can go boating in Fewa Lake. You observe the panoramic view of Macchapuchre, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu ranges. At evening, you can see the pleasant view of the sunset as well and capture the moment in your camera. You stay the night at tourist standard hotel in Pokhara.

Day 3: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tirkhedunga (1570m)

Today is your trekking day. After an hour and a half’s ride from Pokhara, you begin with a short walk along the banks of the Modi Khola. Then, you can shop and eat at the teahouses of Birethanti (1,015m), a large village. There, you can encounter the inhabitants of this village, Gurung, Magar, and Thakali to know about their amazing lifestyles. Then, the trail continues following the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola through villages and climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille (1,495m). After the short climb, you reach Tikhedhunga (1570m). Today’s walk offers a short and comparatively easy day that allows you to get the full experience of trekking in Nepal. The trail will constantly surprise you with the beauty of blooming rhododendron and mesmerizing flowing streams. You stay overnight at a teahouse.

Day 4: Trek Tirkhedunga to Ghorepani (2874m)

This is an important day. You trek through a steep hill to reach the village of Ulleri (2070m). You come across the people of Magar ethnic group to discover their unique lifestyle as a member of the large village. Following the trail, you will inhabit in the beautiful forests of oak and rhododendron towards Banthanti (2250m). You can see the amazing wildlife of the area, Longmuir (long tail black mouth Monkey) accompanying you occasionally through the trees. You trek towards Nangethanti (2,460m) to fill yourself with the excitement of crossing a river. After an hour walk, you arrive at Ghorepani (2840m) where you view the gorgeous Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna I and other mountains. Stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 5: Hike up Ghorepani to Poon Hill then to Tadapani (3210m)

Today, you will reach Poon Hill (3210m) early in the morning by hiking for a quick 45 minutes. You will gift your eyes the elegant view of the sunrise over the striking scenery of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Macchapuchre (Fishtail), Nilgiri, Hiuchuli, South Annapurna etc. Additionally, you can see a network of other peaks that pleasures you. Moving to the trail that follows Tadapani, abundant thriving pine and rhododendron forests to the Deurali amazes you. Then moments of descends through dazzling waterfalls, streams, and dense forest to Banthati is cherished. At Tadapani, meaning ‘hot water’, you will find the water supply for a village far away. You stay the night at a lodge.

Nepal Big Mountain Travel prioritizes your safety first. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Weather conditions, the health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The Trekking Group

The trek includes a trekking group of 2-12 members. As a member of the trekking group, you will receive the reward of one assistant guide with the addition to one main guide or leader to gain as much information from the trekking route possible. The group can be customized as per your need by providing the necessary information. For the details, please refer to the additional information.

The group is under the supervision of the main guide. The main guide considers the directions information and safety concerns. This will make your trip safer.

Accommodations

You stay at the 3-star hotel in all cities and teahouses throughout the tour. All accommodations are on a twin-sharing basis. After the tour, you can take a hot water bath in the hotel and recreate yourself for the amazing tour that awaits you the next day. Activities may include enjoying a drink in the bar with your new travel friends and exploring the unique service every hotel provides. You can feel the natural beauty of the place through the serene hotel in a quiet environment away from the city pollution. You can upgrade your room and hotel with a reasonable extra charge. However, it might be difficult to find a single room at higher elevations.

Meals

The meals also provide you with a slight pinch of cultural taste. It comprises of welcome dinner and breakfast. Firstly, welcome embraces the refreshments after you reach the arrival destination, Kathmandu. Secondly, you can enjoy the traditional Nepali cuisine that is a blend of rice, lentils, vegetables, and pickle. We respect and provide the choice of vegetarian or non-vegetarian food. Lastly, breakfast consists of organic tea or fresh plump of organic fruits. You are given a choice of a range of bakeries and cookies. Breakfasts are only provided in the city tours.

The trip excludes lunch and dinner so that you can explore the multiple choices of cuisines in Nepal without being bound by the travel agency. However, you can choose meals according to your preferences excluding the provision at your own expense.

Nepal Big Mountain also provides a provision of lunch and dinner for the minimum amount of extra USD 25 per person per day for city tours. In addition to it, during the trekking period, for the prerequisites of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the minimum amount of extra USD 40 per person per day is provided such that you have the convenience of easy access to meals throughout the trek.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Any interested aspirant can join the trip that is able to walk for 6 hours with a backpack. There is maximum convenience for the people who travel. Main pros of this trip are that it is suitable for any being who is an enthusiast on the tour for a meaningful journey. However, the traveller must specify any kinds of sickness, diseases, allergies or phobias before the trip because Nepal Big Mountain believes every traveller needs to be under the perfect care and guidance to enjoy the trip with the best convenience possible. Children above 5 years, youngsters, adults, or elders, anyone is welcomed with open arms. In spite of this, the children and elders are to be under the guidance of their guardian.

People with severe premedical conditions must consult their doctors and inform Nepal Big Mountain before the trip.

Best Time to Travel

This short trek welcomes its guests any time of the year, as the weather is well suited in all seasons. Along with it, the trip is a blend of adventure and culture in a short with great comfort. There is a rush of tourists during their vacations. It is suggested that you visit in the month of September-November as you can enjoy the spring weather with the biggest occasion of Nepal that lasts a month, Dashain and Tihar.

The choice of these months will give you a great chance to view the beauty of Himalayas at their best. There are blooming flowers in this season. The trail will be colourful and eye-catching giving you a different level of energy during these months.
