Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m/4,265 ft)

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, our representative will greet you and assist you with your transfer to the hotel. You can then spend the rest of the day at your leisure. You can also choose to explore the bustling city on your own.

Day 2

Preparation Day in Kathmandu

Today is a preparation day for your upcoming Baruntse Expedition. You will attend a pre-trip meeting with your trekking guide. The guide will brief you about the itinerary, equipment, and all other necessary details. You explore the city more today and do some shopping for your trip.

Day 3

Fly to Lukla and trek to Paiya (2,730 m/8,956 ft)

You will have breakfast and catch an early morning flight to Lukla, the starting point of your Baruntse expedition. You will begin trekking towards Paiya and for that, you will have to descend along the Dudh Kosi River and walk through pine and rhododendron forests. Overnight in a guesthouse in Paiya.

Day 4

Trek from Paiya to Pangoma (2,850 m/9,350 ft)

Today you will continue your trek, passing through small villages and catching panoramic views of the Himalayan mountains. Upon reaching the Pangoma village, you will spend overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 5

Trek from Pangoma to Nigmsaw (2,745 m/9,004 ft)

Today your trek will take you through dense forests. You will walk across several small streams and climb gradually through the village of Shibuche to arrive in Nigmsaw where you will stay overnight today.

Day 6

Trek from Ningsaw to Chhatra Khola (3,150 m/10,333 ft)

The trek today is pretty long and more challenging, as you will have to climb through rugged terrain and cross several suspension bridges. You will continue walking until you reach Chhatra Khola, a small village at the confluence of two rivers. You will stay overnight here.

Day 7

Trek from Chhatra Khola to Kothe (3,600 m/11,809 ft)

The trail today follows the Hinku River. You will ascend through a dense forest of rhododendron and juniper. You will eventually be at the village of Kothe, where you will spend the night today.

Day 8

Trek from Kote to Thangnak (4,356 m/14,288 ft)

Today you will continue your Baruntse Expedition trek climbing through meadows. After crossing several streams, you will eventually find yourself in the Thangnak village. You will witness stunning Himalayan peaks from here. Overnight in a guesthouse in Thangnak.

Day 9

Trek from Thangnak to Khare (5,045 m/16,548 ft)

Today you will be trekking for a short day. You will ascend towards Khare where you will have some time to rest and acclimatize before your next day’s trek. Overnight in Khare.

Day 10

Acclimatization Day in Khare / Preparation day

Day 10 is the free day. You will spend the day in Khare to acclimatize to the altitude and prepare for your upcoming climb to Mera Peak Base Camp. Overnight in Khare.

Day 11

Trek from Khare to Mera Peak Base Camp (5,350 m/17,549 ft)

Today you will trek towards Mera Peak Base Camp, which is on the edge of the Mera Glacier. Along the way, you will be amazed by spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks and glaciers. You will enjoy camping today and spend overnight in a tent in the base.

Day 12

Base Camp to High Camp (5,780 m/18,959 ft)

Today you will ascend to the high camp of Mera Peak. After around 4 hours of climb, you will reach the camp at an elevation of 5,780 m/18,959 ft from which you will witness Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Kanchenjunga, Lotshe, Chamlang, Nuptse, and Baruntse. From here, you can also see most of the routes to the summit of Mera peak. Overnight camping.

Day 13

Summit Mera Peak (6,476m/21,246ft) and Descent to Kongma Dingma (4,900 m/16,076 ft)

Today is one of the major highlights of your Baruntse Expedition trek. You will wake up early in the morning and make your way to the summit of Mera Peak. The climb is pretty challenging but it rewards you with stunning views of the Himalayas. As you reach the summit, you will stay there for a while and then descend back to the high camp, and then continue on descending down to Kongma Dingma where you will camp overnight.

Day 14

Reserve Day

Day 14 serves as a reserve day in case of any unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather or health issues. Overnight camping in Kongma Dingma.

Day 15

Trek from Kongma Dingma to Seto Pokhari (5,035 m/16,515 ft)

Today you will trek down to Seto Pokhari, a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. It’s a 6-hour trek and it takes you through scenic trails that lead you to your campsite for the night.

Day 16

Trek from Seto Pokhari to Baruntse Base Camp (5,250 m/17,221 ft)

On day 16, you will continue your journey towards Baruntse Base Camp. You will walk through the rocky terrain of the Barun Valley and as you get closer to the base camp, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Baruntse peak. Overnight camping at the base.

Day 17- 27

Baruntse Climbing Period (7,129 m/23,389 ft)

From day 17 to day 27 is the period when you will be climbing the Baruntse peak, it’s the major highlight of your Baruntse Expedition. Our experienced climbing guides and Sherpas will accompany and assist you every step of the way. You will be camping at different altitudes as you make your way to the summit of Baruntse peak.

Day 28

Baruntse Base Camp to Amphu Labsta Base Camp (5,650 m/18,533 ft)

After your successful climb to the Baruntse peak, you will make your way to Amphu Labsta Base Camp, walking through the beautiful scenery of the Barun Valley. You will camp and spend your night in a tent today.

Day 29

The Amphu Labtsa Pass (5,780m/ 18,963ft) and trek to Chhukung (4,710 m/15,452 ft)

Today is a challenging day as you will be making your way across the Amphu Labtsa Pass at an altitude of 5,780 m/18,963 ft. It is a difficult trek because it requires you to have technical climbing skills. However,  the trail rewards you with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. After crossing the pass, you will walk towards Chhukung where you will spend the night.

Day 30

Trek from Chhukung to Namche Bazaar (10-12 hrs, 3,440 m/11,284 ft)

Today you will wake up early in the morning and head towards Namche Bazaar. The trail descends through forests and after passing through several villages and suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, you will finally reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay in a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

Day 31

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (6-7 hrs, 2,800 m/9,185 ft)

Today is the last day of your trek. You will have a delightful breakfast and then make your way back to Lukla where you will celebrate the completion of your Baruntse Expedition trek with the local Sherpa porters and guides. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 32

Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,300 m/4,265 ft)

Today you will have a nourishing breakfast and then catch an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel where you will take a rest and memorize special moments from the journey. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 33

Free Day in Kathmandu

Day 33 day is a free day for you to explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu. You can go shopping for souvenirs or visit local temples and monasteries. NBM Travel will organize a farewell dinner for you. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 34

Departure from Kathmandu

Today is your final day in Nepal. Our representative will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.

The tour gave me such an amazing experience, especially about the cultural, historical and religious values of Nepalis. 2 colleagues and me went on 1 tour of NBM Travel, in 4 nights and 5 days in Nepal (Limbini, Nagarkot, and Kathmandu). Mr Sujit, the Manager was very supportive in arranging a customized tour for us, meeting all our requirements. He is very responsive and professional, with quite good connections to help us (our domestic flight was delayed, he managed to get us on board of an earlier flight)Mr Subash, the Tour Guide, was also responsible and hospitable. He always tried to make us enjoy the trip. He is also expertised in his job, knowing a lot of information about the tourist attractions. He was very ready to help when we want to buy local fruits, and very collaborative when we want to change the schedule.The tour gave me such an amazing experience, especially about the cultural, historical and religious values of Nepalis. In our tour, we also planned to see the Himalayan Ranges from our Hotel in Nagarkot and from Chandragiri Hills, but the weather was so cloudy during our stay. Fantastic We had such a fantastic experience in Nepal with this tour company. We were overwhelmed by how welcoming and warm Sudarshan and his team were from the moment we arrived. We felt so comparable and taken care of in the beautiful Nivas Botique home in Kathmandu. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed delicious, complimentary authentic Nepalese meals and had such a fanatic stay here. We travelled to Pokhara for 2 nights in very comfortable private transportation. We had a fantastic 2 days of activities including paragliding and white water rafting, all organised for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip and I couldn’t recommend using this travel company more. We will definitely be back in the future!

绝美风景,期待下次再见 不同于之前在国内看到的雪山,喜马拉雅山系的雪山绵延不绝,又高又长,能见度好的时候能看到一片的雪山,感觉自己第一次离雪山那么近,超震撼的感觉。看到了鱼尾峰的鱼尾巴,好美!雨林里山中的空气超级好,刚好走的那段路像原始丛林一般,很美空气很新鲜,竟然有点爱上这种雨中漫步的感觉~选的旅行社的老板人真的很好!安排的十分妥当,爱上这种异国他乡的快乐啦哈哈!不过这是我们第一次相遇,但绝对不是最后一次相聚!

很棒的旅游体验-Kathmandu 一直有想去尼泊尔旅行的想法,前些日子终于下决心仔细研究了,人生地不熟的,问了朋友的朋友有没有旅行社推荐,就推荐了这家,英文名NBM中文名大山旅游,老板中文名也叫大山,感觉对中国文化很有研究,让我们这种出国游的感觉很安心。老板很靠谱,给安排了懂中文的向导,沟通很顺利,人也很亲切。不得不说尼泊尔景色真不错,适合放松身心,有机会的话还会再来,也会多推荐大山旅游的。

Great if you have limited time to visit the city I was in Nepal in November and after a trek of 10 days I only had 1 and a half day to visit Kathmandu. I found out many places to visit in Kathmandu are far from each other (5 to 10 km) and walking between places is not an option (heavy traffic). So I decided to book a private tour (I was a solo traveller) and had a great experience. My guide Raj took me to all the important places , UNESCO sites, and explained everything about the place we were visiting. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has limited time to explore the city. -1 point as the guides will take you to shop/restaurant they have an agreement with, I didn't mind the shop as they don't force you to buy anything, but I would have wanted to choose the restaurant by myself

Cable Car Trip near Kathmandu Me and my friends travelled Kathmandu this July and we went for a short distance trip to Chandragiri Hill. Cable Car took us to Chandragiri hill, which is best to escape from hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. The view of Kathmandu was beautiful as rain cleared up the sky. The guide we were provided was professional and he told us incredible stories of the hill. Overall it was fantastic trip.

Trekking, Local, culture views and sites 5 days in Nepal trek was awesome. We went to Sundarijal, then to Chisapani walking a lot of stairs and then to Nagarkot. We could see beautiful peaks from Dhaulagiri to Everest. People at Sundarijal seem very friendly. All in all, our trek was very nice and we enjoyed it very much.

Amazing Trip! Thank you to the folks at NBM Travel for an awesome trip to Nepal! Shristi was incredibly helpful with coordinating everything and answering all of my silly logistical questions from the moment I booked the trip. My tour guide Mani provided so much support on the tour, from sharing his knowledge about Nepali culture and history, to helping me find souvenirs at a good price, to rearranging our itinerary when we had weather delays. I chose this tour specifically to learn about the many cultures and lifestyles of Nepal and was not disappointed. Each location was so different from the last - Kathmandu is the chaotic capital, Chitwan is a gorgeous jungle where you’ll see animals that you’d never expect to see up close in real life (still can’t believe how close I was to crocodiles and a rhino!), and Pokhara feels like a cute beach resort. We were unable to go to Lumbini due to weather, so we spent an extra day in Pokhara and an extra day in Kathmandu, which worked out fine for relaxing and shopping. Even the bus rides between cities were interesting because you could see examples of life in the countryside and some really cool landscapes. There was a decent balance of sightseeing and free time, and I really liked each of the hotels we stayed at. If you are interested in learning about Nepal beyond trekking, this is a great introduction. They have such an interesting diversity and unique history, I wish more people knew about it!If you go in July, like I did, you’ll likely catch some rain (monsoon season), so make sure you pack accordingly! Rain boots, rain coat, and quick dry pants worked well on rainy days and the boat tour/jungle trek in Chitwan, plus a few pairs of comfortable pants and a pair of sandals for sunny days. Don’t let the name “monsoon” scare you off from coming if this is the only time of year you can go. You’ll still see, do, and eat a lot! (Make sure you have dal bhat and momo while you are here...they are the best!)
