Today you will arrive in Kathmandu. A representative from NBM Travel awaits you at Tribhuwan International Airport to welcome you with garlands and a Buddhist scarf. S/he will then drive you to a luxurious hotel where s/he will give you a brief introduction about your trip. After taking a rest for a while in the hotel, a professional tour guide with take you through the streets of Thamel, a popular tourist hub in Kathmandu. You will then stroll around the Asonbazaar, a bustling market that was once a famous stopover for traders. You will see a series of historical monuments and centuries-old houses along the way. You can shop for curios and souvenirs in the market. You can taste a variety of Nepali cuisines throughout the journey. You will then return to your hotel and enjoy your welcome dinner.
The next day, you will have a hearty breakfast and then leave th hotel along with your guide. Today you will officially begin your Inheritances of Kathmandu tour. You will pay a visit to some of the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal including Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath stupa (The Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Kopan Monastery.
Swayambhunath Stupa: It is a Buddhist and Hindu Temple that consists of one of the largest monasteries in Nepal. Also known as Monkey Temple, Swoyambhunath stupa is home to many monkeys and it consists of sprawling tree-filled grounds.
Pashupatinath Temple: It is one of the holiest Hindu shrines among Hindus in Nepal. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and it has a series of ornamented pagoda houses in it. Devotees worship the sacred Linga situated in the temple to make their wishes come true.
Boudhanath Stupa: It is one of the largest monasteries in Nepal. It is an important center of Tibetan Buddhism and a popular destination for Buddhist pilgrimage. It is believed that there are the bones of Kasyapa Buddha, one of Buddha’s incarnations, at the base of the stupa.
Kopan Monastery: It is another Tibetan Buddhist monastery within a few-minute drive from the Boudhanath stupa. It serves as a spiritual retreat for devout Buddhists. There is also a Buddhist learning center in it where foreign visitors take meditation courses.
You will then return to your hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Today you will explore the remaining inheritances of Kathmandu including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Changu Narayan.
Kathmandu Durbar Square: It is one of the former royal palaces of the late Malla Kings. Kathmandu Durbar Square consists of a range of courtyards and temples that were built between the 12th and 18th centuries. There are three museums inside it to which you can pay a visit.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square: It is another royal square that the Malla royals build while ruling Nepal. The building has a lot to explore the ancient Newari art and architecture. Bhaktapur Durbar Square consists of Vatsala Temple, Bhairavnath Temple, Palace of 55 Windows, Duttaraya Temple, Nyatapola, Pujari Math, Golden Gate, and more.
Changu Narayan: It is one of the oldest temples in Nepal. Situated in Bhaktapur, the temple was built in the 4th century, and it was dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It houses many ancient statues and stone inscriptions.
You will then return to your hotel. We will organize a farewell dinner with a cultural performance for you in the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
On day four, you will have a delightful breakfast after which a representative from NBM Travel will meet you at the hotel and then take you to the airport for your return home flight.
