The Island Peak climbing package takes you on an exciting adventure through the Everest region of Nepal. The highlight of the package is the climb to Imja Tse, also known as Island Peak. This challenging climb involves pre-climb training at Island Peak Base Camp before summiting the peak at 6,189 meters. You begging the journey with a flight to Lukla and trek through the Sagarmatha National Park. You will acclimatize yourself in Namche Bazaar and then continue trekking through picturesque villages and beautiful valleys. You will have to pass through Tengboche, Dingboche, and Chhukung, before actually summiting the Island peak. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, a representative from NBM Travel will welcome you and take you from the airport to your hotel. After check-in, you can either take some rest or explore the streets on your own. Welcome dinner and overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Free Day For Trip Preparation

On day 2, is a free day to rest and prepare for your upcoming Island Peak climb. A climbing guide will meet you and give you a brief introduction to the trip. You can choose to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal today and do some shopping for any necessary gear.

Day 3

Flight to Lukla, and Trek to Phakding

You will take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the starting point of your Island Peak Adventure. You will begin walking toward Phakding. It’s a small village located at an altitude of 2,651m/8,700ft. After walking for around 3 to 4 hours, you will finally reach Phakding village. You will spend your night in a guesthouse there.

Day 4

Trek to Namche Bazaar

You will continue your Island Peak climbing trip through the beautiful Sagarmatha National Park. Following the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, you will have to cross several suspension bridges and as you ascend steep trails, you will find yourself at Namche Bazaar. Overnight in a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5

Acclimatization Day

Today is an acclimation day. You will take a rest and acclimate yourself to the altitude. You can spend the day in the exploration of Namche Bazaar as well. You can choose to hike to the nearby villages of Khunde and Khumjung on this day. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 6

Trek to Tengboche

On day 6, the trail takes you from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche, offering majestic views of the Himalayan mountains – you will witness Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and other surrounding peaks. After passing through rhododendron forests and juniper forests, you will finally reach Tengboche Monastery, which is one of the most sacred monasteries among Buddhists in Nepal.

Day 7

Trek to Dingboche

Today you will make your way to Imja Khola and continue walking until you reach Dingboche. It’s a 6-7 hour trek and it provides you with stunning views of the mountains and glaciers. Overnight in a guesthouse in Dingboche.

Day 8

Trek to Chhukung

Today you will continue your Island Peak Adventure with a 3-4 hour trek to Chhukung. The trail offers breathtaking views of the Imja Tse Valley and Island Peak. Overnight in Chhukung.

Day 9

Acclimatization: Climb Chhukung Ri and then back to Chhukung

With the purpose to acclimate to the altitude, today you will climb a small peak, Chhukung Ri, at an altitude of 5,550m/18,209ft. It’s a 3-4 hour climb and but it rewards you with panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks. You will then return back to Chgukung and spend overnight there.

Day 10

Trek to Island Peak Base camp

Today is one of the major highlights of your island peak climbing. You will climb to the Island Peak Base camp, witnessing amazing views of the Lhotse and Nuptse glaciers on the way. Today you will enjoy camping and spend your night in a tent.

Day 11

Pre-Climb Training on Island Peak Base Camp

Today you will learn and practice basic mountaineering skills that are essential for a successful summit climb. Your climbing guide will briefly guide you on the climbing techniques, equipment, and safety measures. You will practice using climbing gear such as ice axe, crampons, harness, and ropes. Today you will again spend your night in the tented camp at Island Peak Base Camp.

Day 12

Trek to Summit and Return to Base Camp

Today is the major highlight of your Island Peak climb as you will finally trek to the summit. You will wake up very early in the morning and start climbing towards the summit. The climb is pretty challenging but it rewards you with breathtaking views of the Himalayas including Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.

You will cross several crevasses, ascend steep snow and ice slopes, and climb through rocky terrain to reach the summit. After spending some time at the island peak summit, you will descend back to the base camp. Tented camping for overnight stay.

Day 13

Trek to Pangboche

After the challenging yet exciting climb, today you begin descending back to the lower altitude. You will walk through several small villages and dense forests to return back to Pangboche where you will be exploring its ancient monastery and traditional lifestyle. Overnight in Pangboche.

Day 14

Back to Namche Bazaar

Today you will continue descending toward Namche Bazaar. You will retrace your steps through the same trail that you followed on your way up. You can explore the colorful markets, bakeries, and restaurants for the remaining day. There are local monasteries and museums to learn more about the Sherpa culture and traditions. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 15

Trek to Lukla

Today is the last day of your Island Peak Trek. You will trek back to Lukla. After checking out from the Sagarmatha National Park checkpoint, you head further to Monjo, pass Bengkar, and reach Phakding. You will then cross a bridge and pass the potatoes field to get back to Lukla. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 16

Fly Back to Kathmandu

Today you will take a return flight to Kathmandu. The flight is a thrilling experience, as the small aircraft flies through the Himalayan mountain range. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will check-in at the hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner we will organize for you at night. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 17

Departure

Today is your departure day. Our representative will transfer you to the international airport for your flight back home. This will mark the end of your amazing Island peak climbing adventure in the Everest region.

The tour gave me such an amazing experience, especially about the cultural, historical and religious values of Nepalis. 2 colleagues and me went on 1 tour of NBM Travel, in 4 nights and 5 days in Nepal (Limbini, Nagarkot, and Kathmandu). Mr Sujit, the Manager was very supportive in arranging a customized tour for us, meeting all our requirements. He is very responsive and professional, with quite good connections to help us (our domestic flight was delayed, he managed to get us on board of an earlier flight)Mr Subash, the Tour Guide, was also responsible and hospitable. He always tried to make us enjoy the trip. He is also expertised in his job, knowing a lot of information about the tourist attractions. He was very ready to help when we want to buy local fruits, and very collaborative when we want to change the schedule.The tour gave me such an amazing experience, especially about the cultural, historical and religious values of Nepalis. In our tour, we also planned to see the Himalayan Ranges from our Hotel in Nagarkot and from Chandragiri Hills, but the weather was so cloudy during our stay. It may be a good reason for our come back to Nepal next time and enjoy the hospitality of NBM Team.

Fantastic We had such a fantastic experience in Nepal with this tour company. We were overwhelmed by how welcoming and warm Sudarshan and his team were from the moment we arrived. We felt so comparable and taken care of in the beautiful Nivas Botique home in Kathmandu. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed delicious, complimentary authentic Nepalese meals and had such a fanatic stay here. We travelled to Pokhara for 2 nights in very comfortable private transportation. We had a fantastic 2 days of activities including paragliding and white water rafting, all organised for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip and I couldn’t recommend using this travel company more. We will definitely be back in the future!

绝美风景,期待下次再见 不同于之前在国内看到的雪山,喜马拉雅山系的雪山绵延不绝,又高又长,能见度好的时候能看到一片的雪山,感觉自己第一次离雪山那么近,超震撼的感觉。看到了鱼尾峰的鱼尾巴,好美!雨林里山中的空气超级好,刚好走的那段路像原始丛林一般,很美空气很新鲜,竟然有点爱上这种雨中漫步的感觉~选的旅行社的老板人真的很好!安排的十分妥当,爱上这种异国他乡的快乐啦哈哈!不过这是我们第一次相遇,但绝对不是最后一次相聚!

很棒的旅游体验-Kathmandu 一直有想去尼泊尔旅行的想法,前些日子终于下决心仔细研究了,人生地不熟的,问了朋友的朋友有没有旅行社推荐,就推荐了这家,英文名NBM中文名大山旅游,老板中文名也叫大山,感觉对中国文化很有研究,让我们这种出国游的感觉很安心。老板很靠谱,给安排了懂中文的向导,沟通很顺利,人也很亲切。不得不说尼泊尔景色真不错,适合放松身心,有机会的话还会再来,也会多推荐大山旅游的。

Great if you have limited time to visit the city I was in Nepal in November and after a trek of 10 days I only had 1 and a half day to visit Kathmandu. I found out many places to visit in Kathmandu are far from each other (5 to 10 km) and walking between places is not an option (heavy traffic). So I decided to book a private tour (I was a solo traveller) and had a great experience. My guide Raj took me to all the important places , UNESCO sites, and explained everything about the place we were visiting. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has limited time to explore the city. -1 point as the guides will take you to shop/restaurant they have an agreement with, I didn't mind the shop as they don't force you to buy anything, but I would have wanted to choose the restaurant by myself

Cable Car Trip near Kathmandu Me and my friends travelled Kathmandu this July and we went for a short distance trip to Chandragiri Hill. Cable Car took us to Chandragiri hill, which is best to escape from hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. The view of Kathmandu was beautiful as rain cleared up the sky. The guide we were provided was professional and he told us incredible stories of the hill. Overall it was fantastic trip.

Trekking, Local, culture views and sites 5 days in Nepal trek was awesome. We went to Sundarijal, then to Chisapani walking a lot of stairs and then to Nagarkot. We could see beautiful peaks from Dhaulagiri to Everest. People at Sundarijal seem very friendly. All in all, our trek was very nice and we enjoyed it very much.

Amazing Trip! Thank you to the folks at NBM Travel for an awesome trip to Nepal! Shristi was incredibly helpful with coordinating everything and answering all of my silly logistical questions from the moment I booked the trip. My tour guide Mani provided so much support on the tour, from sharing his knowledge about Nepali culture and history, to helping me find souvenirs at a good price, to rearranging our itinerary when we had weather delays. I chose this tour specifically to learn about the many cultures and lifestyles of Nepal and was not disappointed. Each location was so different from the last - Kathmandu is the chaotic capital, Chitwan is a gorgeous jungle where you’ll see animals that you’d never expect to see up close in real life (still can’t believe how close I was to crocodiles and a rhino!), and Pokhara feels like a cute beach resort. We were unable to go to Lumbini due to weather, so we spent an extra day in Pokhara and an extra day in Kathmandu, which worked out fine for relaxing and shopping. Even the bus rides between cities were interesting because you could see examples of life in the countryside and some really cool landscapes. There was a decent balance of sightseeing and free time, and I really liked each of the hotels we stayed at. If you are interested in learning about Nepal beyond trekking, this is a great introduction. They have such an interesting diversity and unique history, I wish more people knew about it!If you go in July, like I did, you’ll likely catch some rain (monsoon season), so make sure you pack accordingly! Rain boots, rain coat, and quick dry pants worked well on rainy days and the boat tour/jungle trek in Chitwan, plus a few pairs of comfortable pants and a pair of sandals for sunny days. Don’t let the name “monsoon” scare you off from coming if this is the only time of year you can go. You’ll still see, do, and eat a lot! (Make sure you have dal bhat and momo while you are here...they are the best!)
