Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Kathmandu (1,345 m)

A representative from NBM Travel will warmly welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. S/he will transfer you to the hotel and after check-in, you can take a rest. You will be briefly introduced to your upcoming Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek. You can choose to stroll around the city and visit nearby cultural sites by yourself today. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Guided Sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley

The next day, a tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kathmandu, and take you for sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley. Today you will visit,

  • Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world.
  • Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world and a pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhists
  • Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the old royal palaces of the late Malla Kings.

After the sightseeing, you return to the hotel. Overnight stay in Kathmandu

Day 3

Flight to Biratnagar

Today, you will leave the hotel and make your way to Kathmandu airport for a flight to Biratnagar. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to a hotel where you can take a rest. You can choose to wander around the streets and explore the local market and shops nearby. Overnight stay in Biratnagar.

Day 4

Flight to Taplejung (2,320 m) and Trek to Lali Kharka (2,276 m)

Today you will depart from Biratnagar airport and take a flight to Taplejung. You will have lunch and then will officially begin your Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek. You walk for 2 to 3 hours along the ridgeline to Lali Kharka. You walk through steep inclines and descend rocky trails and throughout the journey, you pass through small villages and terraced fields. You will set up a camp and spend overnight in Lali Kharka.

Day 5

Trek to Khesewa (2,120 m)

The next day, you will begin trekking trek from Lali Kharka through rhododendron and oak forests. You will descend to the village of Pakora along the Phawa Khola. After crossing a suspension bridge over the river, you start a steep climb up towards Kunjuri. You will take a lunch break on the way and then continue walking until you reach Khesewa where you will catch the first views of Kanchenjunga mountain. You can explore the landscapes and local villages there. You will set up camp and spend your night in Khesewa.

Day 6

Trek to Mamankhe (1,920 m)

On day 6 the route for the trekking trail is a steep hillside through terraced fields above the Kabbeli river. After some ups and downs and crossing several side valleys, you reach the village of Anpan. As you continue descending you will cross the Kashawa Khola and then through terraced fields, you will finally reach the Mamankhe village where you will be camping today.

Day 7

Trek to Yamphudin (2,080 m)

Today you will continue your Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek with an easy climb to Yamphudin along the hillside above the Kabeli Khola. You can enjoy taking a bath in the clear beautiful river. After several ups and downs and crossing the ridges and stream you will eventually reach Yamphudin, the most remote settlement in the area. It is the last village we come across until we get to Ghunsa. Camping in Yamphudin.

Day 8

Trek to Chitre (2,965 m)

The next day, you will start ascending a steep spur through a pleasant forest. You will stop for lunch in a meadow from where you can catch fine views of the north and south. You will then descend to the river and after crossing a bridge across the Omje Khola, you will find yourself in Chitre. Camping and overnight stay in Chitre.

Day 9

Trek to Tortongn (3,010 m)

You will start the day with a 3-hour steep climb to the Deurali Danda through a dense forest. Continue descending across some steep areas, you will enter another dense forest. The sharp descent through the forest will take you into the Simjua Khola valley. After crossing a challenging wooden bridge, you will be at Tortongn, a camping place where you can witness rock shelters amid towering conifers. You will set up your camp and stay overnight here.

Day 10

Trek to Tseram (3,870 m)

The next day, after having a delightful breakfast, you will follow the river through a dense but beautiful forest with rhododendron trees. You will climb steeply and along the way, you will start seeing glimpses of snow-capped mountains. You will witness the massive snout of Yalung Glacier. You will continue trekking until you reach Tseram, a grazing area where you will be camping today.

Day 11

Trek to Ramche (4,580 m)

Today you will go for a relatively short trek to Ramche. However, you will be walking on the trail to Kanchenjunga South which later turns out to be dangerous. You will walk through magnificent scenery descending after the snout of Yalung Glaciers. You will be amazed at the view of the crystal clear frozen lake. Koktang, Rathong, and Kabru are the major highlights of this short trek. You will set a camp upon reaching Ramche.

Day 12

Explore around Ramche (4,580 m) and Trek to Oktang (4,730 m)

Today you will catch a close view of Kanchenjunga. You will follow the valley around to witness the stunning south views of Kanchenjunga and Jannu. On the way, you will come across the Yalung Ri Glacier and as you continue walking you will finally reach Oktang (4,730 m). The trial will provide you with breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountains. Camping in Oktang.

Day 13

Trek to Yalung Ri Base Camp (5,400 m)

Today you will be trekking at high altitudes for which you will need determination. You will cross high passes to reach Yalung Ri Base with perfect logistic support. Overnight in your camp in the base.

Day 14

Trek to Ramche (4,580 m)

Today you will trek to Ramche and on the way, you will explore a series of Yalung Glaciers and valleys before you stop at Ramche for the perfect camping. A frozen lake, clear streams, and panoramic views of the Himalayas are the major highlights of the trek to Ramche.

Day 15

Trek to Sallerle via Mirgin La (4,480 m)

On day 15, you descend down the valley which later turns to a high and challenging Labsang La route to reach Ghunsa, the north side of Kanchenjunga. The trial is pretty rough and dangerous, especially for those who are new to trekking. Alternatively, you will be moving forward to the Mirgin La pass from where you will catch the magnificent view of Jannu, along with several high mountains such as Makalu, Gyakung Kang, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Chamalang. After crossing the pass, you will make your way to Sallerle where you will spend a camp night today.

Day 16

Trek to Ghunsa (3,475 m)

After having a nourishing lunch, you will descend down to Lamba Sumba Kharka to witness majestic views of the Southwest Face of Jannu. You will then continue walking on a comparatively easy trail through the forest before you are in the village of Ghunsa where you camp today. You will explore the picturesque Tibetan village where you will see Buddhist prayer flags fluttering everywhere. You can taste Tongba, a local alcoholic drink.

Day 17

Trek to Kambachen (4,040 m)

The next day, you will ascend up to the south of the Ghunsa Khola. After a steep climb to a slope, you will crosse a slide and then descends to Lakepo. You then take a short climb to reach the village of Kambachen where you will have a camp stay today.

Day 18

Exploration Day at Kambachen

Today you will b acclimatizing at a high altitude. You will go for a short hike early in the morning to explore Kambachen. You will catch a spectacular view of Kanchenjunga peak and other associated mountains from here. Overnight camping stays in Kambachen.

Day 19

Trek to Lhonak (4,790 m)

Today you will first climb through rocky fields to Ramtang and then cross the Kanchenjunga Glacier to reach Lhonak, a sandy plain where you will camp between the boulders. You will witness a range of mountain vistas here.

Day 20

Trek to Pang Pema (5,140 m)

Today is one of the best parts of your Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek. You will catch a spectacular view of the main Kanchenjunga peak from Pang Pema, the base camp for expeditions on Kanchenjunga. As you leave Lhonak, you will gradually ascend across the plain and follow the moraine to get to Pang Pema.

Day 21

Explore around Kanchenjunga Base Camp (5,100 m) and Return to Kambachen

On day 21, you will take a morning hike up a ridge north of Pang Pema which will provide you with a vantage viewpoint to witness the Kanchenjunga peak. You will then return to Kambachen where you will be staying in a camp today.

Day 22

Trek to Ghunsa

You will descend through the lush forest and make your way to Ghunsa where you will get opportunities to communicate with Tibetan refugees. You can choose to descend down to Yangswa, a great and warm camp. Overnight in a camp in Ghunsa.

Day 23

Trek to Amjilosa (2,460 m)

Today you will begin walking through the beautiful forest that opens out to steep, and as you continue walking you will finally get to the grassy hillside of Amjilosa where you will be camping today.

Day 24

Trek to Sakathum (1,600 m)

You will perform a short climb. However, the trial mostly descends down today. You are not stopped until you reach Sakathum where you witness the place where Tamur and Ghunsa rivers meet. Overnight camp in Sakathum.

Day 25

Trek to Chhiruwa (1,200 m)

Today you will cross the Simbu Khola that originates from the Kanchenjunga mountain. You will be crossing several small tributary streams to reach the Chhirwa village. You will camp in a field out of the village today.

Day 26

Trek to Suketar (2,420 m)

On day 26 is the last day of your Kanchenjunga base camp trek. Today you will traverse in an out of minor valleys and pass through a numerous picturesque villages before you reach Suketar. Camping overnight in Suketar.

Day 27

Flight Back to Kathmandu

Today you will enjoy your last glimpse of the Himalayas before you take a 30-minute scenic flight back to Kathmandu. You can choose to take a rest in your hotel in Kathmandu today.

Day 28

Leisure Day and Farewell Dinner in Kathmandu

Today is your leisure day. You can choose either to stay in your hotel and memorize beautiful moments from your trek to Kanchenjunga Base Camp or to stroll around the streets yourself. At night NBM Travel will organize a farewell dinner for you. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Departure

The tour gave me such an amazing experience, especially about the cultural, historical and religious values of Nepalis. 2 colleagues and me went on 1 tour of NBM Travel, in 4 nights and 5 days in Nepal (Limbini, Nagarkot, and Kathmandu). Mr Sujit, the Manager was very supportive in arranging a customized tour for us, meeting all our requirements. Fantastic We had such a fantastic experience in Nepal with this tour company. We were overwhelmed by how welcoming and warm Sudarshan and his team were from the moment we arrived. We felt so comparable and taken care of in the beautiful Nivas Botique home in Kathmandu. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed delicious, complimentary authentic Nepalese meals and had such a fanatic stay here. We travelled to Pokhara for 2 nights in very comfortable private transportation. We had a fantastic 2 days of activities including paragliding and white water rafting, all organised for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip and I couldn’t recommend using this travel company more. We will definitely be back in the future!

绝美风景,期待下次再见 不同于之前在国内看到的雪山,喜马拉雅山系的雪山绵延不绝,又高又长,能见度好的时候能看到一片的雪山,感觉自己第一次离雪山那么近,超震撼的感觉。看到了鱼尾峰的鱼尾巴,好美!雨林里山中的空气超级好,刚好走的那段路像原始丛林一般,很美空气很新鲜,竟然有点爱上这种雨中漫步的感觉~选的旅行社的老板人真的很好!安排的十分妥当,爱上这种异国他乡的快乐啦哈哈!不过这是我们第一次相遇,但绝对不是最后一次相聚!

很棒的旅游体验-Kathmandu 一直有想去尼泊尔旅行的想法,前些日子终于下决心仔细研究了,人生地不熟的,问了朋友的朋友有没有旅行社推荐,就推荐了这家,英文名NBM中文名大山旅游,老板中文名也叫大山,感觉对中国文化很有研究,让我们这种出国游的感觉很安心。老板很靠谱,给安排了懂中文的向导,沟通很顺利,人也很亲切。不得不说尼泊尔景色真不错,适合放松身心,有机会的话还会再来,也会多推荐大山旅游的。

Great if you have limited time to visit the city I was in Nepal in November and after a trek of 10 days I only had 1 and a half day to visit Kathmandu. I found out many places to visit in Kathmandu are far from each other (5 to 10 km) and walking between places is not an option (heavy traffic). So I decided to book a private tour (I was a solo traveller) and had a great experience. My guide Raj took me to all the important places , UNESCO sites, and explained everything about the place we were visiting. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has limited time to explore the city. -1 point as the guides will take you to shop/restaurant they have an agreement with, I didn't mind the shop as they don't force you to buy anything, but I would have wanted to choose the restaurant by myself

Cable Car Trip near Kathmandu Me and my friends travelled Kathmandu this July and we went for a short distance trip to Chandragiri Hill. Cable Car took us to Chandragiri hill, which is best to escape from hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. The view of Kathmandu was beautiful as rain cleared up the sky. The guide we were provided was professional and he told us incredible stories of the hill. Overall it was fantastic trip.

Trekking, Local, culture views and sites 5 days in Nepal trek was awesome. We went to Sundarijal, then to Chisapani walking a lot of stairs and then to Nagarkot. We could see beautiful peaks from Dhaulagiri to Everest. People at Sundarijal seem very friendly. All in all, our trek was very nice and we enjoyed it very much.

Amazing Trip! Thank you to the folks at NBM Travel for an awesome trip to Nepal! Shristi was incredibly helpful with coordinating everything and answering all of my silly logistical questions from the moment I booked the trip. My tour guide Mani provided so much support on the tour, from sharing his knowledge about Nepali culture and history, to helping me find souvenirs at a good price, to rearranging our itinerary when we had weather delays. I chose this tour specifically to learn about the many cultures and lifestyles of Nepal and was not disappointed. Each location was so different from the last - Kathmandu is the chaotic capital, Chitwan is a gorgeous jungle where you’ll see animals that you’d never expect to see up close in real life (still can’t believe how close I was to crocodiles and a rhino!), and Pokhara feels like a cute beach resort. We were unable to go to Lumbini due to weather, so we spent an extra day in Pokhara and an extra day in Kathmandu, which worked out fine for relaxing and shopping. Even the bus rides between cities were interesting because you could see examples of life in the countryside and some really cool landscapes. There was a decent balance of sightseeing and free time, and I really liked each of the hotels we stayed at. If you are interested in learning about Nepal beyond trekking, this is a great introduction. They have such an interesting diversity and unique history, I wish more people knew about it!If you go in July, like I did, you’ll likely catch some rain (monsoon season), so make sure you pack accordingly! Rain boots, rain coat, and quick dry pants worked well on rainy days and the boat tour/jungle trek in Chitwan, plus a few pairs of comfortable pants and a pair of sandals for sunny days. Don’t let the name “monsoon” scare you off from coming if this is the only time of year you can go. You’ll still see, do, and eat a lot! (Make sure you have dal bhat and momo while you are here...they are the best!)
