On your first day, on arrival at the Kathmandu international airport, you will get a grand welcome from a representative in formal attire with garlands (Mala) and a traditional Buddhist ceremonial scarf (Khata). This is a traditional and heart-warming gesture to welcome guests in Nepal. After that, the representative will guide you to your hotel. Next, you can explore the streets of Thamel at dusk. Afterward, you can enjoy the cultural dinner at the Tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu.
On Day 2, we leave the hotel early in the morning, heading towards Syabrubensi. The journey will be around 6 hours. Enjoying the scenery of the marvelous snow-covered mountains, we reach Syabrubensi. We will be driving past the Dhunche headquarters of the Rasuwa district around the Langtang Himal area. We will spend the night here at Syabrubensi.
We will embark upon our journey from Syabrubensi, walking the beautiful trail to cross over the bridge of the Langtang river. Then we ascend further into the lush green forest to reach the Lama hotel, where we will spend the night. This is a beautiful spot within the forest clearing.
On the fourth day of our trek, we cross the Lama Hotel, explore the beautiful Langtang village, and finally reach Mundu. The final destination of the day. You have to walk the ascending trail to Mundu, which will take around 6 – 7 hours to reach.
On day 5, we will take a short walk to Kyanjing Gompa. This early morning trek starts with a narrow ascending walk towards the ridge after covering the dense, lush forest. We progress further, enjoying the Langtang valley’s captivating scenery and finally reaching the destination, Kyanjin Gompa. Then we spend the night here at Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 6 will be a day of acclimatization at Kyanjin; you can explore around and enjoy the scenic masterpiece. You can rejoice amidst the natural beauty.
After the marvelous time spent around the amusing Langtang Valley at Kyanjing, we follow the descending trail to the Lama Hotel, where we will spend the night.
Day 8 will be the last day of this beautiful trekking adventure. We leave the Lama hotel early this morning and trek along the forest with a descending path to cross over a bridge. Then we reach our final destination for the day, Syabrubensi, and spend the night here after dinner.
After an exceptional trekking experience on Langtang valley around Rasuwa, viewing scenic masterpieces, we take the drive back to Kathmandu after a magnificent adventure.
The difficulty level of the Langtang Valley trek is considered lower to moderate. We recommend the Langtang valley trek with trekking guides. This trek includes beginner trekkers, children above 10, and friends and family trekkers. The high-altitude trails in this region make it the perfect trekking experience for anyone searching for an adventurous trek without facing adverse situations.
The Langtang Valley trek is doable throughout the year. However, Spring and Autumn are considered ideal times for trekking in Nepal. These seasons offer favorable climates, clear blue skies, and a fresh environment best suited for a memorable trekking experience.
Winter and Summer come along with their own sets of struggles and challenges. However, with prior management and patience, you can easily complete the Langtang valley trek during any season.
The unpredictable and frosty weather conditions can invite several challenges while taking the high-altitude trek during winter. So, if you are planning on trekking to the Langtang valley during winter, then be prepared and pack accordingly. Like every coin has two sides, each option has its pros and cons. Now, looking at the bright side, you don’t have to worry about accommodations during winter as tea houses and guest houses are mostly empty during this time.
How about trekking to the Langtang valley during the summer break? You can easily trek to the Langtang valley during summer. However, summer and monsoon occur simultaneously, so you must be prepared for the challenges of monsoon, including; slippery trails, leeches, and bugs.
Hence, the best time to do the Langtang valley trek is in March-May and September to Mid-November.
The Langtang trek will take around seven days, two days for the bus ride and five days for actual trekking.
The difficulty level of the Langtang trek is considered moderate, so it is recommended to trek with a guide. Therefore, this trek is best done with guides and porters.
You can reach the Langtang National Park in about 4 hour drive from Kathmandu.
The permits required for the Langtang Gosaikunda trek are TIMS Card and Langtang National Park Entry Permit.
