Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1400 m)

Our representative will welcome you with garlands and a Buddhist scarf at the Tribhuwan International Airport on your arrival. S/he will then take you to your hotel. You will refresh and take a rest in the hotel. The representative will then briefly explain your Upper Dolpo trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Kathmandu to Nepalgunj Flight

The next day, after a delightful breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport from where you will take a flight to Nepalgunj. It’s a 1 hour flight. You can stroll around the city throughout the day. Overnight in Nepalgunj.

Day 3

Fly to Juphal (2475 m) flight and Trek to Dunai (2140m)

Today you will take 35-minute flight to Juphal from where your Upper Dolpo trekking will officially start. You will descend down to Kalagauda for fourty minutes and then hike for two hours above Thuli Bheri River. As you continue walking, you will pass by the riverside and pass Roop Ghar until you reach the small twon of Dunai (2150m). You will visit the Bon Stupa and Central Buddhist stupa from where you will catch the view of the whole town. Overnight in Dunai.

Day 4

Trek to Chhepka (2687 m)

Today you will experience the real adventure of your Upper Dolpo trek in Nepal. You will begin trekking along the classic route through Sulighar. You will  take the permit to Dolpo and Shey Phoksundo National park, and then continue your journey. You will walk through Phoksundo River where you will explore the landscape of thevicinity. As you pass through the tropical forest, you will reach to Shangta. A few more minutes of trek and you are in Chhepka.

Day 5

Trek to Chunuwar / Amchi Hospital (3000 m)

On day 5, you will have a nourishing breakfast and then continue your Upper Dolpo trek. You will pass through Lower Dolpo circuit and then crossing the bridge over Phoksundo River twice to have lunch in Rechi. You will then follow phoksundo Khola and Yulung Khola to reach Chunuwar. There is a famous hospital, Amchi Hospital, where traditional doctors treate diseases with herbal medicines. Overnight in Chunuwar.

Day 6

Trek to Phoksundo Lake (3600m)

Today, you will climb through the big forest along the route of Ringmo village. You will explore the highest waterfall and stone houses with mani walls along the way. You will then cross a bridge and make your way to Phoksundo Lake where you will enjoy camping.

Day 7

Rest day

Your Upper Dolpo trekking will be paused today as day 7 is dedicated to rest. Throughout the day, you will explore the natural beauties around Ringmo village and pay a visit to Bon Monastery in Tshowa. You will then descend to Phoksundo lake along steep cliffs to enjoy majestic views.

Day 8

Trek to Sallaghari (3630m)

On day 8, you will climb along the narrow trail on a cliff straight above Phoksundo. You will then descend down through the dense forest to reach Sallagari. You will camp in the pine forest in Sallaghari.

Day 9

Trek to Nangdala HC (4717m)

Today you will continue your journey after a delightful breakfast. You will cross the Tuk Kyaksa river and after a three-hour trek, you will reach Kangla/nangdala Base camp where you will camp for the night.

Day 10

Trek to Shey Gompa (4343m) via Nangdala pass (5350m)

The next day, you wake up early in the morning and begin trekking to Shey Gompa and then to crystal Mountain, a sacred peak in Dolpo. It’s a three-hour walk and throughout the journey, you will be sightseeing wonderful views. You spend overnight in Shey Gompa.

Day 11

Trek to Namgung Gompa (4360m) via Shey La Pass (5100m)

Today, after exploring Shey Gompa for a while, you will start climbing up towards Shey La pass. After hiking for 2 hours you will reach Namgung. You will come across the Sephu Khola and catch majestic views of Kanjiroba, Kagmara, and Riu Dhukta on the way. Overnight in Namgung.

Day 12

Trek to Saldang (3770m)

The next day, you will explore the famous monastery of Namgung and then proceed toward Saldang, a beautiful place surrounded by hills. You will interact with the natives there and explore the Amchi tradition and Buddhist culture. Dinner and overnight at a guesthouse in Saldang.

Day 13

Saldang to Yangjer Gumba (4590m)

Today after breakfast, you will pack your lunch and then hike Yanher where you will explore, Yangjer Gumba, the most popular monastery of your trek. You will then return to Saldang and spend your night there.

Day 14

Saldang to Komash Village (4060m)

Today you will leave Saldang lek and walk along the Raphya khola to reach the village of komash. It’s a six-hour trek. Overnight at a guest in Komash village.

Day 15

Komash Village to Shimen (3850m)

Day 15 provides you with a great opportunity to witness some endangered animals during your Upper Dolpo trekking in Nepal. After 5 hours of trek, you will reach Shimen and throughout the journey, you may see endangered animals such as snow leopards and Blue sheep. Dinner and overnight at a guesthouse in Shimen.

Day 16

Trek to Tinje (4110m)

Today you will begin walking through the side of Panjyang Khola and explore some beautiful villages and gompas on the way. You will walk until you reach Tinje.

Day 17

Tinje Village to Yak Kharka

The day 17 starts with the exploration of the settlement of Chhamdang in the Tinje village. You will then walk behind the trial along the Chholtam Khola and Panjyan Khola. You will cross a bridge over Thalum khola to reach Yak Kharka where you will witness the grazing Yak. You will camp in Yak Kharka for the night.

Day 18

Trek to Tokyu (4240m)

Today you will walk on a quite difficult route. As you cross the bridge over Sulun khola, you will reach Choila North Pass. After trekking for two hours, you will find yourself on the peak of Choila Pass which provides a beautiful view of Tokyu Camps. You will camp and spend overnight there.

Day 19

Trek to Dho Tarap (3944m) Rest day

Today you will take a rest and calm your body. However, you will take a short trip to Dho Tarap to explore a range of chortens, Mani walls, and monasteries. We will organize a cultural program there where you can enjoy watching traditional Tibetan dances with songs. Overnight in Dho Tarap.

Day 20

Trek to Naworpani (3475m)

Today you will pass through two rivers – Tarap Khola and mirububane Khola – to explore beautiful views of the arid landscape. After going through Sisaul, a toltol village, you will walk further until you reach Nawarpani where you will be staying for the night.

Day 21

Trek to Lashicap (2775m)

On day 21, you will walk through the green forest along the way to the Tarap Khola. You will then climb up to Lamchaur, and after crossing Lahini, you will descend to Chhedul Gompa, and then stop at Laisicap. Yow will camp here today.

Day 22

Lashicap to Dunai

You will leave Lashicap and begin trekking to Tarakot. You will walk through a forest region and cross the bridge over the Thuki Bheri River on the way. You will witness cultivated terraced fields before you reach Dunai where you will spend overnight.

Day 23

Trek to Juphal

Today is the last day of your trek. You will have a delightful breakfast and then prepare yourself for a couple of hours-long treks. You will keep walking until you find yourself in Juphal. Overnight at a guesthouse in Juphal.

Day 24

Fly to Nepalgunj to Kathmandu Flight

Today your Upper Dolpo trek is officially over. You will take a flight from Juphal to Nepalgunj early in the morning. You will take a rest in a hotel in Nepalgunj and by the afternoon, you will take another flight to Kathmandu. We will organize a farewell dinner for you at night. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 25

Departure

So here’s the end. On day 25, a representative from NBM Nepal will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the airport for your return home flight.

The tour gave me such an amazing experience, especially about the cultural, historical and religious values of Nepalis. 2 colleagues and me went on 1 tour of NBM Travel, in 4 nights and 5 days in Nepal (Limbini, Nagarkot, and Kathmandu). Mr Sujit, the Manager was very supportive in arranging a customized tour for us, meeting all our requirements. He is very responsive and professional, with quite good connections to help us (our domestic flight was delayed, he managed to get us on board of an earlier flight)Mr Subash, the Tour Guide, was also responsible and hospitable. He always tried to make us enjoy the trip. He is also expertised in his job, knowing a lot of information about the tourist attractions. He was very ready to help when we want to buy local fruits, and very collaborative when we want to change the schedule.The tour gave me such an amazing experience, especially about the cultural, historical and religious values of Nepalis. In our tour, we also planned to see the Himalayan Ranges from our Hotel in Nagarkot and from Chandragiri Hills, but the weather was so cloudy during our stay. Fantastic We had such a fantastic experience in Nepal with this tour company. We were overwhelmed by how welcoming and warm Sudarshan and his team were from the moment we arrived. We felt so comparable and taken care of in the beautiful Nivas Botique home in Kathmandu. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed delicious, complimentary authentic Nepalese meals and had such a fanatic stay here. We travelled to Pokhara for 2 nights in very comfortable private transportation. We had a fantastic 2 days of activities including paragliding and white water rafting, all organised for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip and I couldn’t recommend using this travel company more. We will definitely be back in the future!

Amazing Trip! We spent 4 fantastic days in Kathmandu and Pokhara with NBM travel. Our trip included paragliding, sight seeing and an Everest flight. Management went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, safe and ensure that we had the best time. Would highly recommend this travel company!

绝美风景,期待下次再见 不同于之前在国内看到的雪山,喜马拉雅山系的雪山绵延不绝,又高又长,能见度好的时候能看到一片的雪山,感觉自己第一次离雪山那么近,超震撼的感觉。看到了鱼尾峰的鱼尾巴,好美!雨林里山中的空气超级好,刚好走的那段路像原始丛林一般,很美空气很新鲜,竟然有点爱上这种雨中漫步的感觉~选的旅行社的老板人真的很好!安排的十分妥当,爱上这种异国他乡的快乐啦哈哈!不过这是我们第一次相遇,但绝对不是最后一次相聚!

很棒的旅游体验-Kathmandu 一直有想去尼泊尔旅行的想法,前些日子终于下决心仔细研究了,人生地不熟的,问了朋友的朋友有没有旅行社推荐,就推荐了这家,英文名NBM中文名大山旅游,老板中文名也叫大山,感觉对中国文化很有研究,让我们这种出国游的感觉很安心。老板很靠谱,给安排了懂中文的向导,沟通很顺利,人也很亲切。不得不说尼泊尔景色真不错,适合放松身心,有机会的话还会再来,也会多推荐大山旅游的。

Great if you have limited time to visit the city I was in Nepal in November and after a trek of 10 days I only had 1 and a half day to visit Kathmandu. I found out many places to visit in Kathmandu are far from each other (5 to 10 km) and walking between places is not an option (heavy traffic). So I decided to book a private tour (I was a solo traveller) and had a great experience. My guide Raj took me to all the important places , UNESCO sites, and explained everything about the place we were visiting. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has limited time to explore the city. -1 point as the guides will take you to shop/restaurant they have an agreement with, I didn't mind the shop as they don't force you to buy anything, but I would have wanted to choose the restaurant by myself

Cable Car Trip near Kathmandu Me and my friends travelled Kathmandu this July and we went for a short distance trip to Chandragiri Hill. Cable Car took us to Chandragiri hill, which is best to escape from hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. The view of Kathmandu was beautiful as rain cleared up the sky. The guide we were provided was professional and he told us incredible stories of the hill. Overall it was fantastic trip.

Trekking, Local, culture views and sites 5 days in Nepal trek was awesome. We went to Sundarijal, then to Chisapani walking a lot of stairs and then to Nagarkot. We could see beautiful peaks from Dhaulagiri to Everest. People at Sundarijal seem very friendly. All in all, our trek was very nice and we enjoyed it very much.

Amazing Trip! Thank you to the folks at NBM Travel for an awesome trip to Nepal! Shristi was incredibly helpful with coordinating everything and answering all of my silly logistical questions from the moment I booked the trip. My tour guide Mani provided so much support on the tour, from sharing his knowledge about Nepali culture and history, to helping me find souvenirs at a good price, to rearranging our itinerary when we had weather delays. I chose this tour specifically to learn about the many cultures and lifestyles of Nepal and was not disappointed. Each location was so different from the last - Kathmandu is the chaotic capital, Chitwan is a gorgeous jungle where you’ll see animals that you’d never expect to see up close in real life (still can’t believe how close I was to crocodiles and a rhino!), and Pokhara feels like a cute beach resort. We were unable to go to Lumbini due to weather, so we spent an extra day in Pokhara and an extra day in Kathmandu, which worked out fine for relaxing and shopping. Even the bus rides between cities were interesting because you could see examples of life in the countryside and some really cool landscapes. There was a decent balance of sightseeing and free time, and I really liked each of the hotels we stayed at. If you are interested in learning about Nepal beyond trekking, this is a great introduction. They have such an interesting diversity and unique history, I wish more people knew about it!If you go in July, like I did, you’ll likely catch some rain (monsoon season), so make sure you pack accordingly! Rain boots, rain coat, and quick dry pants worked well on rainy days and the boat tour/jungle trek in Chitwan, plus a few pairs of comfortable pants and a pair of sandals for sunny days. Don’t let the name “monsoon” scare you off from coming if this is the only time of year you can go. You’ll still see, do, and eat a lot! (Make sure you have dal bhat and momo while you are here...they are the best!)
